HogwartsNewYear is set in Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts. It begins where OoTP left off and runs in new directions. We make a real effort to stay true to canon, but it does get bent in a few surprising ways.
Why are Severus Snape and Remus Lupin arguing publicly in the Great Hall? With the full moon only a little more than a week away, emotions are running high among staff and students concerning the resident werewolf. Draco is in a panic, Snape is in a sour mood and prowling the halls and a 7th year Slytherin prefect has something he can use against Lupin.
Harry has reformed Dumbledore's Army, now a legal student club with the departure of Dolores Umbridge. The first meeting with students from all Houses...including Slytherin...is about to take place. What was Harry thinking to ask two Slytherins to come? What do the new and returning members of the DA think about the two blindfolded Slytherins in their midst? Can they be trusted? Zacharias Smith doesn't think so, but no one listens to him.
Another body has been found in Knockturn Alley. More students have left Hogwarts. And a new Ministry regulation will soon rankle everyone who hears it...along with Professor Snape's nerves when the latest Weasley Twin publication, the Handy-Dandy, Hunky-Dory, No-Nonsense Potions Playbook shows up around the school.
