Mare_Cognitum Role-Play
Mare-Cognitum is a Next-Gen game set 20 years after the fall of Voldemort.
August 25, 2020, dawned like any other day in the wizard world. The Daily Prophet reported:
Bewitching botanist blooms again!
For the third time in as many weeks, residents of Hogsmeade awoke to the sight of thousands of blooms surrounding one entire side of the town. The sweet fragrance could be detected as far away as the Hogwarts grounds and according to one eyewitness, Milton Warwick, a number of young Muggles armed with butterfly nets were spotted lurking dangerously close to Hogsmeade. Rumours that the magical enchantments that protect the town from Muggle notice might be in need of a booster spell were immediately shot down by Ministry spokeswoman Mathilda Bigglesworth.
"With the start of the new school year at Hogwarts set to begin in one week's time, the Ministry would like to reassure everyone that everything is in order and all is well. The magical enchantments are as strong as ever and we have no reason to believe that the activity represents anything other than a strong fascination with gardening on the part of the so-called Bewitching Botanist."
Fortescue's Ice Cream Emporium vandalised!
Vandals struck again in Diagon Alley, this time ransacking the renovated ice cream parlour once operated by Florean Fortescue. Current owner and operator, Devlin McDonough, a nephew of the still missing previous owner, Florean Fortescue, stated he arrived at the ice cream parlour early this morning only to find the windows smashed and deep scrawls etched in the heavy oak door. Mr. McDonough did state, however, that Fortescue's would be open for business despite the damage.
"We still get lots of business at the end of summer, especially with all the students coming back to Diagon Alley for school supplies. We will NOT be intimidated into closing!"
Fluxweed Stem Rot Eradicated!
Percy Weasley, speaking on behalf of the Ministry Department of International Magical Cooperation, announced today that the recent outbreak of stem rot that has plagued the domestic fluxweed has been brought under control. All pending lawsuits, both domestic and foreign, resulting from injuries and illness incurred from the tainted fluxweed will be handled in a most expedient manner.
"We state with firm conviction that the source of the recent outbreak of stem rot was a naturally occurring event which we have brought under control. I would like to remind everyone that plants are living objects and as such are subject to illness just as we are. The last outbreak of stem rot happened not long after the end of the Voldemort War and we are absolutely sure that the two outbreaks are in no way related. The fungal mold that devastated the Monkshood crop last year has not repeated as the critics said it would and the stem rot will go away, too, especially with the steps we've taken to that end."
Weird Sisters Rock Again Reunification Tour set for October!
The popular rock band, the Weird Sisters, have put their bitter break-up behind them and are set to rock the wizard world on fire this coming October. Tickets are available by owl post beginning September 1.
Lead singer, Myron Wagtail, stated: "This will be our best tour ever. We've got new material and are anxious to be back on stage together. It will be like we never left."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The surviving Death Eaters remained imprisoned at Azkaban, silenced by a longstanding gag order, even as the first whispers of the promised 'signs' of a new age began to be heard. Forgotten faces from the past resurface and the Old Ways arise again. Nothing is as it seemed. What will become of the wizard world? Where do you stand?
Join us in telling the story of the Next Generation of Harry Potter! Many canons still available and OCs welcomed. We are looking for good writers who can fashion a fabulous read. Mary Sues need not apply.
