The Story So Far;

Welcome to the Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning, located deep within Svalbard, Norway. The year is 1942, and the state of things has reached a disastrous point in Muggle-Europe. Though near the tail-end of World War II, things look dire as countries are annexed, occupied, or in a state of disrepair. And just as allegiances are made and broken between the nations of Europe, on both sides of the war, there is yet another crisis gripping the continent. But they'll never see it.

In 1942, the Wizarding World too has been caught up in the middle of a crisis: the regime of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is ever-spreading, and looks to be unstoppable. And while Muggle politics may not reach the ears of carefully secluded wizards, Grindelwald more than makes up for it. Muggle-born wizards, blood-traitors, and other "unmentionables" have begun to disappear at an alarming rate, and even political figureheads have been under scrutiny. As it becomes more and more obvious that it is Grindelwald's reign of terror that is responsible for the disappearances, slowly all eyes in Europe begin to turn to the "pure-blooded" families of Europe, and the dirty little secrets that each harbours.

And yet, despite all of this, Grindelwald's reign, and the Wizarding World still require proper education. With Britain's students safely secluded within the walls of their alma mater, Durmstrang has become the primary academy for the Magical Arts in Europe, known especially for its special selection of students from only the "best" of families the society has to offer. But even among the Wizarding "elite," all is not well. Lines are quickly drawn to establish faux hierarchies of blood and worth, often based upon scandal, rumour, and family secrets that don't stay as hidden as one would like to think. All is not well in the state of Svalbard, and even beyond the gossip, there are those who have chosen to stand against Grindelwald's reign of terror. There's a war going on for your mind.

Welcome... to the Nexus.




Fandom Smash is a pan-fandom taking place in the simply named Nexus, a spacial-temporal dimensional meeting point. Here characters can interact, live, work, go to school, as normal. Of course, there is always a threat in the distance, in this case ever looming Empire, but try to make it through your day-to-day without worrying so much.

But what's the most special thing about Fandom Smash is that, unlike other games, this one is shaped by the players. Events, mini-events, and even the world itself are all created relating to the player's decisions! Think of it like the Terraria of LJ games -- there's structure, sure, but the world relates to the players: break it, build it, shape it and smash it. Everyone does their part!
