CHAOS Unraveled: 3rd Edition
MAINCOMMLINKOOCPREMISERULESFAQ
The perennial archetypes of 'Good' and 'Evil' have devised a momentous contest to determine the dominant force in existence. A long-sought confrontation, both sides have enlisted a figurehead, a shepherd, to gather individuals to champion their cause. Those who come arrive to contend against each other in a plane of existence created expressly for the purpose of this hallowed conquest. Bells toll and drums beat in percussive unison, casting all eyes towards the growing conflux. This vast shell of a world, although quiet and derelict, is neither hollow nor fully abandoned. When only half the regulations are told to its guests, those remaining secrets ferment, waiting to punish the curious and triumph the brave.

The Underground

There's the London we all know.

And then there's the Underground. The real Underground, a secret world of supernatural forces and strange creatures that walk the city streets hidden in plain sight. Witches, vampires, werewolves. Shapeshifters and humans with extraordinary powers. Ghosts. And the Other Realm, where the fae dwell, and where magic leaks out into every corner of the city.

While the parties of Westminster fight their political battles, there is another much more dangerous power struggle going on. It's a battle for territory, and it is fought by the various supernatural factions that claim dominion over the city.

Will peace prevail? Or is conflict inevitable? Let the story begin...

About the Game

WELCOME TO THE NEXUS (setting)
"The greatest tragedy that can befall us is to go unimagined." – N. Scott Momaday
The thing is, there's always a portal. Sometimes it's a door, sometimes it's a shadow, sometimes it's a step to the left when you should have gone right. However it happened, here you are: in the in-between of everywhere. Maybe you can get home, maybe you can't. Maybe you're alive when you shouldn't be. Maybe you're just looking for a great organic farmer's market. You're here now. Might as well make the most of it.
WHAT TO DO (story)
"We travel for romance, we travel for architecture, we travel to be lost." – Ray Bradbury
Ever wonder where the magician's assistant goes after she's put in the box? Where the trickster god goes when he steps out of the panel? Where the forgotten corners of the world go when the maps are redrawn? You're about to find out--you're one of them now. You can go just about anywhere from here, if you're brave and foolish and know the way. Or you can wait for it to all come to you. The lost puzzle pieces of existence are cobbling themselves together again. Want to help?
WHAT'S GOING ON (about)
"When you come back you will not be you. And I may not be I." – E.M. Forster, “The Other Boat”
[community profile] nexus_sages is a pan-fandom dressing room with a dynamic setting, player-driven plots, and minimalist modding (problems addressed, events planned, light housekeeping). North High is a panfandom jamjar horror game based on games such as Corpse Party, but based in an American high school. Characters wake up in a school gymnasium after dark, with very little of the school available for exploration at first.

We are tentatively set to open November 20th.

THE ENDGAME

opening november 1st!

Armageddon. Apocalypse. End of Days.

You have all heard the words used before. Some of you might even know the lore. None of you, however, expected it to go down quite like this.

The world is in the process of dying. Disease and destruction ravage the land. Cities lie in ruins and entire civilizations have fallen virtually overnight. Humanity is becoming an endangered species with each passing day.

Don't worry, though, it's all going according to plan. What plan, you might ask? Why, God's plan, of course. Granted the instructions aren't always very clear and can be open to interpretation - wording really is funny that way - but the general concept is understood well enough. The two factions - Light and Darkness - will face off and, with the aid of an army, one side will be victorious while the other will be destroyed.

In short? Both sides are gearing up for the ultimate smackdown and have circumvented the walls of reality itself in order to bring in recruits to aid them in their ultimate victory.

So pick a side. Will you fight next to the Archangel Michael and help usher in a new Heaven on Earth? Or perhaps you're more comfortable following the Devil Himself into battle and ensuring your place as a king amongst captives when Hell takes over? Or maybe you're the risky type and want to stay neutral. Wait it out and see what happens. Whatever your choice, one thing is absolutely, crystal clear.

Once you've been recruited, you're here to stay. So choose wisely. Your future depends on it.

Welcome to the Endgame.

[The Endgame is a pan-fandom roleplay experience set in an Original Universe with heavy influence from the Christian concept of the end of times, with a significant twist. We have an over-arching storyline, with occasional moderator run subplots, and very much encourage player-based plots as well. All fictional characters are welcome, provided they fit into the overall concept of the game. The game is set to open on November 1st!]

You wake up in a bright white bedroom in a lengthy twin bed. The sheets are stiff and the pillow is harder than it looks. An entire wall is made of glass and you can't tell where the door might be hidden in it. Your clothes are your own and you still have everything on you before you arrived here. You don't seem to have been touched at first glance, but there's a stiff pain in the side of your neck. A quick glance in the mirror shows an injection site - a round bruise roughly the size of a dime. It's then that the glass wall flickers on like a television screen. A man (or at least they appear to be a man) dressed in a white lab coat smiles at you, ready to give you a little information on what is going on.

Welcome to Proxima Gamma.

Proxima Gamma is a panfandom science fiction/fantasy sex game set in a man made world in an unknown universe. It is a spin off of the original game [community profile] proximabeta, loosely tied to the original island and the original plot. While it appears that the world is a massive island, it is encased in a large dome, the sky made of projectors that mimic various weather patterns, but can also be used to make large announcements as a giant television screen that everyone will notice. The island is free to travel at will, with a vast amount of varying wildlife that some may not even find familiar to anything they've seen in their own worlds.

The dome is a world made by scientists running a group of social experiments for purposes they seem currently unwilling to share. Proxima Beta was considered a failure and was quickly destroyed when the scientists were unable to obtain their desired data. Proxima Gamma was conceptualized and built in hopes of expanding their research and continuing the search for the perfect test subjects from across the universes.

Each experiment runs for approximately two weeks - some longer, some shorter, but there's always only one way to stop them; to participate in some form of sexual contact with another affected member of the island. Experiments are often done in groups, but individualized unique tests have also been known to commonly happen inside the dome. Those who fail to participate in the experiments assigned to them will be given a shot of heavy aphrodisiacs to encourage them to complete their tasks. Those who participate willingly will be given rewards; a trinket from home or constant access to their powers from their own worlds.

All new arrivals will have a chip inserted into their neck. The chip seems to be incapable of being removed, though those who wish to test the theory can certainly try their best to find willing participants. They are the source of the scientists abilities to control their experiments and they will do everything in their power to make sure that their tests subjects are unable to tamper with their results.

It was just like 100 years ago. No one knows exactly why or how this is happening. People, who claim to be from different worlds and have different lives, just suddenly started appearing. 100 years ago, the Titans appeared out of nowhere. No one remembers why or how they came to be. The Walls were constructed then to keep the Titans out and to protect humanity and we lived for nearly a century in peace.

Now, strange people, from strange worlds, are suddenly appearing. You find yourself in a world far different from your own or perhaps eerily similar, depending on the world from which you came. This is reality now. You live behind a city protected by three Walls: Maria, Rose and Sina. You are told not to go outside the Walls and that you cannot escape from this world, because this is all that is left of humanity.

Upon your arrival, you are greeted by a soldier. He seems a bit crazy, but he tells you that you have a choice to make now that you are here. You can choose to join the military or you can choose to live out your life here behind the walls. The technology of the world is not like modern technology. The most advanced vehicle is a horse-drawn wagon. Canons and guns exist, though they are limited in their resources. No television or movies are available. There are schools, bakeries, restaurants and other jobs available if you decide the normal life. Depending on where you are from, you are given a choice as to which wall you live within. If you choose to join the military, you are offered the option to attend cadet training.

You are informed that the top ten cadets of each class have the option to join the elite Military Police, those who work with the crown to keep the peace inside the walls. They live the furthest inside the city, thus the safest from the danger that exists outside the walls. This option is only open to the top ten cadets. The others have the choice of the Garrison Regiment, who will work to protect the citizens of the city, or the Scout Regiment, who set foot outside the Walls and work to take back lands already lost to our enemy. It's your choice what you do now that you are here.

Which option will you choose? What will be your fate?

Is there a way back to your world?

DO YOU DARE TO DREAM?

In the city of Moro-Umbra, dreaming is a luxury few can afford. Merciless beasts called shadows stalk the streets, eating the dreams of all who encounter them and leaving them a shell of their former selves, dreamless and hollow. With nothing to drive them, the general populace sinks into apathy.

But the NEIR Corporation has an answer. Using crystal technologies, they have summoned particularly strong dreamers from across the multiverse. With your help, they hope to restore Moro-Umbra to a city of safety and peace. Of course, they have to make sure the newly Crystal Dreamers get the job done - so they've provided a few incentives. Like, being unable to return home until a certain number of powerful shadows have been defeated.

❈ ❈

Crystal dreamers is a panfandom magical girl (boy, etc.) RP set in the fictional city of Moro-Umbra. When a character has a heartfelt dream, they wake to find themselves in the Neir Co headquarters and are presented with an opportunity to realise their dream. After defeating a certain number of evil shadows, they will be allowed to return home, and as a special bonus, their dream will be fulfilled. Sounds like a win-win situation, right? But there are things lurking behind the scenes of Moro-Umbra... and the shadows aren't even the worst of it.

You might have heard of Liber Omne Omnis, but probably not. You may have heard it called The Ominous Library. Either way, you find yourself standing in a gigantic library, filled with a thousand books. This is one small part of Libre Omne Omnis. Like many others before you, you've been drawn to Library that exists between all realities. The books on the shelves contain the stories and histories of every reality and almost every person who ever existed. New books appear almost every day, to be sorted and shelved by the Teachers, an order of scholars dedicated to knowledge and sharing it.

Don't worry. You can come and go, as you please. The books are not mere paper, filled with precious words. They are portals to the realities they tell about. Any world or reality you've ever heard of can be accessed from the Library. Wonderland, Narnia, Neverland? All of these are at your fingertips. Merely take up the book and go adventuring! Beware though. Some realms are sweet places, but others are not. For every Land of Oz, there is a Land of Mordor. The Librarian will not be pleased, if you come back to the Library with Cthulhu on your heels!

The Library itself is not entirely safe. The Librarian does his or her best, but the books are easily opened and not always from the Library side. An unwary Reader is likely to stumble across an infestation of tribbles or find a plate of cookies that say Eat Me. Consume unattended food and drink at your own risk. Some things, despite the best efforts of the staff, have taken up permanent residence in the Library. More than one ghost now haunts the shelves in the horror section. Strange plants, animals, and voices should be reported immediately.

For those wanting to stay, the City of Liber provides free housing and the Library provides free meals and simple clothing. However, there is commerce in the city and every vendor will accept any known coin from the different realities. The people who find their way to the Library and the City of Liber are called Readers. Any Reader is free to start their own business, go to work for someone else, or simply spend their time adventuring.

Be warned! If you choose to engage in criminal activity, the Librarian is not a dusty person who puts away books. The office of Librarian exists to protect the Library and the City from anyone who would endanger it or the Readers. The Librarian is authorized to do whatever is necessary to keep the peace. You will get a trial, with a jury made up of Teachers, but Library justice is swift, if rarely fatal. If you get yourself into trouble in another reality, you are on your own, unless you can convince a friend to help you.

Upon entrance to the Library, every Reader is given a watch-like device, with a small video screen. The device can be used for audio, video, and texting communication. It works everywhere, no matter what the reality a person is in. The device also has a tracking device, making it easier to return to the Library. A Reader can still find their way back, without it, but it will be far more difficult and take more time. If you have any questions or problems, please speak with the Librarian.
