This is an original-character, supernatural/super-hero premised game set in London, England, where young men and women with unique and often unexplainable gifts are found and invited to reside in the Metis Program. WHAT THE METIS PROGRAM IS NOT: The legal paperwork of the Metis Program all declare it to be first and foremost the not-for-profit brainchild of the reclusive millionaire M. A. Rakoczy. Initially identified as a special-needs school, the Metis Program's public face now declares it an independent research facility investing in the work of people from all walks of life and all educational backgrounds. Acceptance to the program is determined by a prestigious private board, at which point they are awarded free residency within the Metis Program facilities, so long as they follow the organizational guidelines. Metis Program residents are free to pursue trade careers, finish school, proceed to university, or conduct private research. A handful of case studies are posted on the Metis website and include the work of one playwright and one professional athlete. WHAT THE METIS PROGRAM REALLY IS: A school for those with paranormal abilities, period, Metis locates and then offers to train anyone discovered with supernatural powers. Metis houses dozens of students in various stages of taming their supernatural abilities, all attended to by a cohort of gift-training staff whose abilities are similar or suited to those of their students. Primarily funded by the government, Metis has become something of a fertile recruiting ground for many supernatural organizations; good, bad, and ugly. For enhanced humans, the world is a complicated place, and everyone has an agenda.
